FontLab 5.0.2 – Crashing constantly!

I Bought and installed FontLab 5.0.1 and later 5.0.2. After five minutes use – FontLab Crashes! What’s wrong?

I’m working in MacOS X Tiger (10.4.6) and I’ve never had this problem before?

Any help resolving my problem will be appreciated.

I would contact FontLab support first.

5.02 has been very stable for my Mac (on Tiger as well).

Be sure you have removed any demo versions before you install the real version.

It runs fine on Tiger 10.4.6 and I have never had a crash - maybe you need to reinstall

Kristian,

you may want to reset the preferences and customization: start FontLab Studio and immediately (while still starting) press the Ctrl key. In the “Reset Workspace” dialog, choose “Reset UI to default state”.

Thank you Adam. Works better now – but I still have to let the program crash once after every restart – by selecting preferences/General Options. Can it be my Wacom tablet?

It could be your Wacom tablet Kristian. I had problems with loads of software including Fontlab 5.0.2 after installing Tiger.

I spent ages on the phone to Apple support before figuring there was a conflict somewhere.

I fixed it by downloading a new Wacom driver from the Wacom website. Everything works fine now.
