import error in indesign

Hi!

i m using InDesign me version. and typing Arabic in it.

here s the situation:

i ve more than 1000 Ms Word pages. i want to copy them to indesign. and use the same font used in word. it is a specially made font by my company.

when i copy&paste the text it pastes in the font “Minion”. and doesnt show some special characters (like shadda).
than i change the font to the want i want. it shows the characters that minion didnt show. but it doesnt connect them.

i ve shown the errors in the attached file.

i d be really grateful if some1 can help!

What version of InDesign are you using? Is it one of the Middle Eastern versions (InDesign ME)?

Have you tried creating type in the INDD with the font you want, selecting it and pasting over it with the text from Word?

This seems like too simple a solution...

Are you re-typesetting the text? Or, are you using it as samples in something greater? Could you save as PDF from Word and place that into Indy?

PP: i tried it. :( didnt work.
MT: it might be a solution. but we ve more than 1000 pages. lol.

thanx all anyway. i checked the net, and found a new version of Arabic Indy :) CS3.

n it solved it. but all the menus are Arabic. lol. my Arabic is not so that good. gonna change the menu.
