(x) "Silver" wide hand printed script - Ankeny {Mike Y}

DN

Hi,

Just joined the site and have a font I have been trying to match. Only got a graphic of it so have attached it.

I have been trying to identify it with no luck but hopefully some of you might recognise it. If not then maybe you have suggestions as to a font that is similar / close to it?

Thanks in advance.

Ouch, a hand written script... See section 14 of the FAQ.

Those are the hardest. Because they are so easy and cheap to produce there are literally thousands of them floating around on the web.

Have you ever seen this script in another context, with different characters, especially repeating ones? It could even be a custom lettered logo for all we know, and only these 6 characters exist.

Why don’t you take a look yourself in the Everyday Hand Printing section of Mike Yanega’s magnificent Script Font Identification Guide? Maybe you’ll see something you like.

You’re in luck. This is one of the ClickArt Handwritten Fonts called ’Ankeny’ (the lower case) and you can see a sample on Page 4 of that part of the Script Font ID Guide that Yves mentioned. This collection is still availble from Broderbund in the ClickArt Fonts collection.

Is that the one the famous Yanega Hand is on?
: )

You mean ’Bowfin’? Yes, indeed! That’s why I know these silly handprinted fonts from that collection.I got a copy of the CD back in 1995, because they used my printing sample.
