How to get a certificate for my font?

Da Bai Cai

I read the articles in microsoft and it tells me if I want to sign a font file “for real” I need to obtain files from Certification Authority such as Verisign. Then what kind of certificate should I buy? Would you tell me how to sign my font successfully without the Warning: This file is signed, but not timestamped.Thank you very much.

I think FontLab 5 makes the signing process easier, but I’ll check with the engineers regarding the timestamp issues and report back.

Cheers, Si

Thank you! I am waiting for your news.By the way, I learned that Verisign is currently the only vendor selling digital certificates and time-stamping services that can be used with the MS signing tools. As you said that’s not true, isn’t it?

Sorry? I can’t recall saying anything. Still waiting for a reply from the right peeps.

Last time I heard about it, Thawte also sold Authenticode certificates, which are what is required.
