I am working on the redesign of a daily newspaper and wanted your opinions about sans serif type families for headlines. We are testing Grade Three Fb Poynter Old Style for body copy and are very pleased with the results. How does everybody feel about the Knockout family for headlines?
OK, but which two or three fonts did you have in mind?
Without more info about the nature of your newspaper, it’s a crapshoot.

Here’s a guess... http://times-herald.com/
whitney is quite nice for news headlines.. i’ve also always liked franklin gothic and trade gothic
Franklin Gothic & Bell Gothic are always great display typefaces indeed.
Maybe Stalemate or Sophisto would fit?
Check them out here; http://www.macrhino.com
Does GQ use this for their Body Copy?
I believe The New York Times uses Cheltenham for its headlines.
——-> Nevermind, I didn’t realize he was asking about san serifs.
