(x) Baskin Robbins logo - (similar to) ITC Garamond {Mark S}

Mark Alley

Can anyone tell me the font used in the old Baskin Robbins logo? Including the font in the #31.

I believe it’s based on ITC Garamond Condensed, but appears to be modified somewhat.

Perhaps a condensed version of Caslon Black

Mark is righter.

I suspect that, like most logos, this is custom lettering, but you could approximate this with Scangraphic’s ’Times Black’ and a bit of ’squooshing’. The x-height is nearly as high, and the letterforms are pretty close, in my opinon. The ’3’ has even the right attributes, if you distort it some.

OK, now I see Mark’s choice. I agree with Stephen — Mark is righter.

thanks!!!
