Im trying to figure out what the typeface is on the recipe titles in the Balthazar cookbook.
The credits say Mucca Designs did the cover, but i think they designed the whole book too.

David Berlow's Bureau Grotesque Three Three, available from The Font Bureau, Inc. The designer added the outline and drop shadow.
The designer did all that manipulation on every recipe title? Helluva lot of work!

Actually, maybe it exists readymade, but I wouldn't know where to find it.
As a designer of many cookbooks, it's hard to imagine someone handtooling every recipe title. My guess is either it does exist as is or they had someone create it in fontographer. Or they have a bevy of unpaid interns at the studio for this kind of work.
Yves got the font right.
I did the customization while designing the book (and if you look closely is not done very well).
But it works.
