As someone who supports the civilian use and entertainment value of expensive military hardware (H1’s, Ferret Armored Cars and the Blue Angels) I’m excited about House Industries release United (I’ve been reposting House’ teasers for the past few months). But I wonder how this will play out amongst your average designer and international audiences?

Foundry Gridnik watch out…

your average designer

those guys are wussies and shold tuffen up. What if we are invaded by giant alien reptiles from space and soemoen has to to kick they’re but??!!

>those guys are wussies and shold tuffen up.

I think you’re on to something. Boot camp for designers! Better still a tour of duty (or two) in Basingstoke.

>What if we are invaded by giant alien reptiles from space and soemoen has to to kick they’re but??!!

Well, the design community may be able to come together with a series of posters promoting alien awareness or perhaps a signage system directing the aliens to “our leaders”. Better still a coffee table book with some tastefully moody black and white alien pictures and series of essays from film makers and product designers. Well there goes next years April Fools…

I don’t think gridnik has anything to worry about.

Being a Brit Si I thought you would be into those Red Arrows…

wow. 105 fonts! that’s bordering on overkill!

Overkill? Ain’t no such thang! This is the time for superfamilies after all. :^D

>Being a Brit Si I thought you would be into those Red Arrows…

True, one of me best memories was visiting the Red Arrows base as a child while in the Cub Scouts. However my daughter was born on Seattle’s Seafair Sunday with the Angels overhead so I have a soft spot for them too.

> wow. 105 fonts! that’s bordering on overkill!

Shock and awe!

A more accurate name for the currect state of affairs would have been Untied.

>would have been Untied.

That implies there’s a fix.

unknown

Fix: Use velcro instead. Kids manage better with velcro.

Good idea, something to add to the typochild site

Sadly HI went with spray paint and drips; maybe that’s just me who is tired of seeing those used in design.
