Typophile

node 18876

Grant Hutchinson, part-time Splorper, and full-time Veerster celebrates his 30-something birthday today. Grant is the quintessential Typophile, dipping his toes in every aspect of typography - fontographing, selling, writing, and all the tech stuff. He’s been around the block and knows what’s what and I’m proud to call him a pal.

Thanks Stewf. Thanks Eric. Thanks Chris.

If I’ve learned one thing while having my mug stuck in front of a webcam for the past decade… don’t pick your nose.

I appreciate the conservatively varietal series of images.

Oh, and it’s actually 40-something. I can only lucidly dream of my 30s at this point.

Well done Grant! $5 says you’ll be the only person at TC 2006 that’s not wearing the KERN zip up!

Well, that would be true, Si, but mine was stolen when some font lovin’ fool broke into my car last week.

unknown

That’s sad :-( if you lived anywhere other than the bay area the crook would be easy to spot, but my guess is that they’re quite common down there.

I’ll put the $5 towards a replacement.

Thanks everyone. The wishes are appreciated.

Stewf… I am saddened by your loss. Let me see what I can do…

Happy birthday Grant. Great to have you around (and damn handy as well). :^)

It’s a crying shame Veer merch doesn’t ship outside North America. :^(

Grant, font man of the world, happy BD.

And here’s a small gift: you definitely still look 30-something.

That’s alright Peter… I nearly missed it myself.

Thanks again for all the kind wishes.
