Typophile

Typophile search for pangram yields fatal error.

Anyone have a link for a discussion that Myfonts says took place here?
Thanks.

Joe Pemberton’s is a scream :-)

Whatever happened to Joe? He used to post here all the time ;-)

Si

Now reading Joes got me going—not that Hrant isn’t an easy target :-)

Here is mine:

“Modernist hazing knocks your vile jewel box off quip.”

My favorite from that link:

Wham! Volcano erupts fiery liquid death onto ex-jazzbo Kenny G.

As a musician, I’ll admit Kenny has chops, and more power to him for figuring out a way to make lots of money, but there is otherwise some appropriateness to this one.
: )

Now the Wayback.org link is blocked.

How about a pangram as the definition of itself:

“A pangram can be a vexing word puzzle, as every letter of the alphabet must be used in just one quirky sentence.”

From my upcoming font catalog. There’s one for each of my fonts. :-)

Nice, Matt.
This is my text from the upcoming Indie Fonts 3, the same for each font:

“The formal qualities of a typeface energize, facilitate and inform the typographic layout. Skilled typographers will leverage the attributes of judiciously chosen fonts to maximize the personality of the page, thereby standing out from the crowd.”

Actually, all 26 letters are covered by the time you get to “x” in maximize. I suppose I could have made it shorter, but I wanted enough words for a paragraph of body copy!

It was hard enough getting it translated into Russian and Greek, never mind the pangram...

Well played, Nick!

All of the pangrams I wrote (Which by the way, were so much easier to write using Mark Simonson’s Pangrammer Helper) ended up being around 65-80 characters long. Any shorter and they would not have filled the space I created for them.
