walking a narrow line
I've noticed differences in designers based on gender. I think inexperienced designers in general will choose less appropriate type/ways of designing , based on style or 'preference.' It just so happen when a male* does it, it just looks mediocre/inappropriate and when a woman* does it, it looks froofy/inappropriate.

Heh, this reminds me of American Psycho, where all the rich VPs are having a dick-waving contest with their business cards, going on about the cardstock and foil and so on. In the film, the card that finally owns everyone and sends our madman into a jealous rage is a plain white card set in Copperplate.
Well, if she thinks it's important to have large type so the "senior, very powerful business man can read it without putting on his glasses", she is probably a little harsh on the woman who put a photo of herself on her card, "wearing a purple velvet dress, thick blue eyeliner, bouffant hair and red lipstick."
Blunder #1. Using an inappropriate photo. (YES! very Girly)
Blunder #2. Using an inappropriate font. (YES! don't remember)
Blunder #3. Not getting the help you need to make your business card stand out. (YES! I can do it myself)
Blunder #4. Failing to use the back. (YES I did)
Blunder #5. Mistreating your cards. (sorry)
Blunder #6. Not having business cards with you at all times. (Yes I do but don't carry the Ipod photo anymore the screen got scratched the first day I used it. Use my mobile phone instead it's better.
