Sans Serif Search

stuttle

I have a client that claims to have seen a typeface in which the Caps and Lowercase were interchangeable. Meaning the overall character height is the same. Of course changing type size is an option but she recalls the weight of the letterforms was the same. ie. an uppercase T was equal in size and weight to the lowercase e.

Does anyone know of any examples of such a face?

This is generally known as unicase:

Emigre has Filosofia Grand Unicase and Cholla Sans Unicase
Shinntype has Panoptica

There are many many more.

FF Disturbance comes to mind, though some characters aren’t exactly unicase. On book covers all over europe, there seems to be no escape… And not a sans, but filisofia unicase isn’t a sans either…

Excellent! At least I know now what to search for…FF Disturbance looks promising even though I started out looking for a Sans Serif. thanks for the quick replies.

newut - new universal typeface - maybe? http://www.ambplus.com/pa/2.html

go to myfonts.com and do a search for “unicase” and “sansserif” you might turn something up.
