FontLab Glitch: Percentage symbol doesn't appear

heners

Hi there,

I have imported a percentage symbol design into Fontlab 5 from Illustrator CS; as I have done for all the other font designs but when generate the font and go to type the percentage symbol, either nothing comes up or is replaced by the question mark symbol. It is visable in Fontlab 5 as an outline but not when you view it in a new metrics window.

Can anyone help....I’m a little stuck?

Thank you.

i’d make sure that the unicode value for the character is correct.

This appears to be a FL bug which I have also experienced. You need to assign the percent name and Unicode index - 0025 - manually. I have seen similar problems with hyphen (sometimes), and a couple of random glyphs: Imacron and musicnaturalsign.

i think this can be fixed:

find the “standard.nam” file and add the line:

0x0025 percent

Thank you very much for your help Paul and Chester - problem solved.

Yuri and Adam, did you see this? Just checking... ;-)

I renamed the thread to call their attention to it. I hope that is ok.

This was fixed in FontLab Studio 5.0.1, which is a free update available for FontLab Studio 5 customers. Get it at
