Does anyone know which faces they used for this? It looks like they used a couple of slab serifs, but the “SuperBowl” text might just be a smaller, thinner, version of the “XL”.

Let me know, thanks everyone!

unknown

Officina Serif?

Nope, I’m wrong.

unknown

If you had to guess - Do you think its the same slab-serif used on all parts of this ad?

unknown

I would say so.

Regardless of the typeface used, the Pats are going for #4!
The dynasty continues!

DY-NASTY for sure!

What Norbert you don’t think the Texans or Jet have a chance?

unknown

The Red Sox just lost Johnny Damon to the Yankees today:-(
The Pats will save us Beantowners from utter depression:-)

Ha ha!

Now he’ll have to cut that stupid hair of his.

Johnny’s pre-idiot look.

It’s gonna be a long 84 more years til your next world series…

:-( with all the trades, maybe so.

But at least the Stones started their tour in the City of Champions!

unknown

It’s amazing how iconic that mark is.

unknown

Yes but there is something quite disturbing about stitches on the swollen tongue. Don’t really want to think too hard about that.

unknown

Ok this thread seems to be dying, but I figured Norbert might appreciate this. Below is a silkscreen print I did this summer (colors aren’t accurate, crappy photo/lighting) as an appropriation print called ‘Drowning Dynasty’ if you’re a fan of Roy Lichtenstein/Yankees you’ll get it! :-D

The Bengals are going all the way, baby!

unknown

Terry, a Bengal fan in San Francisco from New York City? Huh?

Adding more crap to this thread, this girl was in my highschool class. We graduated in ‘03: http://www.patriots.com/cheerleaders/index.cfm?ac=photogallery_detail&f=9349

Cincinnati is my hometown!

When did this site become Jockophile?

unknown

Guess you’re right Patty. Did anyone actually ID the slab serif for SF Highlander?

Now he’ll have to cut that stupid hair of his.

It’s gonna be a long 84 more years til your next world series…

p.s.> Sounds like Jockette talk to me.
And does anyone know why or how square serifs became so popular for varsity letters?

“And does anyone know why or how square serifs became so popular for varsity letters?”

Easier to sew on with a machine than round.

David,
At first I thought you said this girl was your girlfriend in high school—then I realized she was not your type:-)

It is a pity nobody id’d the font, though.

I was just wondering how this thread managed to veer off course so badly. The original poster didn’t get any substantial help whatsoever… :^/

unknown

I don’t know what the slab is. I thing it was rounded in Photoshop when they did the 3d extrude/ bevel thing.
