Client is sending me a font and it is an exec file????

df234

I asked the client to send me their advertising font (trade gothic light) and it arrived in a .zip file and when expanded ALL the files are EXEC files. Not sure what's up. I have a mac running tiger and the fonts are coming from a PC.

thanks,

doug

Hi Doug, looks like they sent you some PC application (executable) files, perhaps further compression? Tell them you need .ttf or .pfb font files to be of any use on a mac. I use PC fonts from time to time and they work fine under tiger.

They might be PC executable ZIP files. If so, 'squeeze' them with File Juicer. You'll get normal ZIP files on the other end, which are easily openable on Mac OS X.

Most likely, your client was not entitled to send you the font in the first place. Most end user license agreements do not allow for distributing fonts. You'd better obtain a license yourself.
