There were quite a few "photo alphabets" shown from time to time in older issues of U&lc, several of which were done by Herb Lubalin. But these were essentially pictures of found articles resembling letterforms. If I can find one of these articles I'll try to post samples. As for an actual typeface, I don't recall a font using photos of handtools.

There are a few type designs using tools such as Toolbox by Brian Strysko.

I saw your post. Do you have to be hammered to use that one?
Ah screw it, you can use it sober too:-)

Chris, that was gut wrenching to read. As the old saw goes, you are such a tool of the pun industry.

Yes, it pulled me right out of my socket:-)

Well then... SCREWGED YOU, Deez, ol' boy!

Alternately you could use this one to roll your own in Illustrator or Corel Draw 17...

Norbert,
Did you choose that pink to match the color of Philips Milk of Magnesia?

ChrisL

Oh, that's right, it is a slotted screw driver, not a Philips screw driver in the picture:-)

ChrisL

A Philips screwdriver is Vodka and Milk of Magnesia :-)

ChrisL

I think you nailed it, Chris. I hope that wasn't too tacky to say. I'll be riveted to this thread until you respond. I'm having a real ball (peen) with this...

Awl right you two. Bolt of you are acting like a couple of nuts. And, um... pipe wrench.
