Good design studios in San Francisco?

Jem

I was wondering if any San Francisco locals could suggest some good graphic design studios in SF.

I have done extensive research on the web, books and through the AIGA, put a list together, then thought it may be worth asking the San Francisco Typophiles as well.

My list so far includes SF standards like: Cahan, Chen, Character, Howry, Paper Plane, Tolleson, Stone Yamashita, Volume, UDN, Pentagram, Wolf Olins and Landor.

Any help would be much appreciated.

What area of graphic design do you seek to work in? (excuse me for ending the sentence with a preposition... I’m tired.)

In which area of graphic design would you like to work? (better?)

Print, Identity design and application.
(possibly book publishing)

Thanks David.

NY is the right place, but the best one in SF: Chronicle Books.

I’d look at MINE if you’re interested in aligning yourself with a rising star in the disciplines you’ve mentioned.

I checked out MINE’s site, looked at the first item in their portfolio, ID for Brainfloss, liked their “cheaky” logo for it, but no link to the Brainfloss site. I went there nonetheless, and there’s no logo, just brainfloss.com in lower case Helvetica —- Aaaaargh!

At first glance Jared, I thought you meant “MINE” as in “YOUR’S.” :)

Me too, I thought, let’s see what Jared is up to...

Thanks Jared “Mine” is exactly to type of company I was looking for.
