Looking for typefaces with a single storey a

clare.holmes30 October 2005 · 07:04

I know this isn't quite an ID subject but i'm looking for typefaces with a single storey a. Avant Garde and Futura are the only ones that come to mind off the top of my head so I could do with some real help!

Thanks

Stone Informal: http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/linotype/itc-stone-informal/

FontFont:
QType, SuperGrotesk, Jackie, Maverick, Fontsoup, Advert, ...

and many many more

If you want to advance make sure your terminology is correct
because you can find many italics with the 'a' you are looking for, e.g.:

So what's the story with "a" anyway?

There are many. First to my head:
Century Gothic
FF Super Grotesk
Drescher Grotesk
Plantin Schoolbook
Proxima Nova has an alt 'a'. (see "all characters")

Prixima looks good with it too.

Fresco Sans Informal from OurType

Bembo Schoolbook, another rare serif with a one-story "a":

Some older slab serifs have the "a" you're looking for, including Lubalin Graph and Memphis.

With so many results... the word lazyness comes to mind :)
