Names for the descenders of the letter 'g'?

vaaaska

I don't know this...are there names for the various descenders for the letter 'g'?

You know, one looks more or less like a 'j' and many others look like an upside down 'q' (or something like that)...

?

For the whole letter g if it has two counters (closed or almost closed) is called double storey, the other type is referred to as single storey.

The bottom stroke of a single storey g is often called a tail. The bottom part of a double storey g is often refered to as its lower bowl.

"The bottom part of a double storey g is often refered to as its lower bowl"

or "loop" - "cappio" in Italian ("noose").
