(x) Be Gluebalized - Heineken custom logo font {David Hubner}

Romesh Naik

looks like an easy ones - but i can't find it. can somebody id this slab serif?

Damn! Not in the FontBook, nor in Rookledge's...
It looks like a 70s New York advertising face.

yves: what is rookledge's? any mysterious fast-access book you use to retain your "fastest font-identer" role? :-) lars

yves, it must be a digital typeface.

my first tought was, that I'll find it in a few minutes. it seems to be a brain teaser.

Hmm, looks just like the Heineken Logotype..
Maybe its a custom Typeface.?

..But, there is a ( Shamrocking ) Freefont, named 'Heineken', out there..
Maybe thats the one that has been used..

david, nice catch. it seems to be the heineken font.

btw.
schade, dass du deine site aufgegeben hast. ich fand sie sehr gelungen. vor allem deine arbeiten.

I still believe that the original Heineken Typeface is a custom one..

Lars, That was my exact question when I first heard about this mysterious Rookledge.

It's like the type-IDers secret handshake.

well, about rooklegde:

strange thing is, that they also do a "Architectural Identifier of Conservation Areas":

Hi Lars, sorry that I didn't get back to you about
Rookledge's International Type Finder, but I have
been (a) very busy and (b) without e-mail notification
the past few days. I see you've found the information
yourself and Karen has been so kind to direct you to
the previous thread where it got mentionned and
explained (THX Karen).
Now that e-mail notification seems to be working
again I hope I'll get back to normal speed.

David brilliant ID BTW. I guess that's why it seemed
so familiar to most of us but we still weren't able to
find it. It's a bit like recognizing someone out of his/
her normal context: you recognize the person but
can't pinpoint where from.
