ah sorry, i meant the blackletter. I think several foundries had it in metal… It’s in Linotype’s Big Red. And no, Rich doesn’t keep me in a cave… just in the attic.

Dude, Richard keeps you in a cave?

Another best quote of the week. This is good one!

> i meant the blackletter.

Oh, OK. Yes, they did call that “Text”, didn’t they.
Let’s hope John B chimes in. You might change the thread title.

Text, as in Textura.

To my knowledge, this has not been digitized. Or at least, there is no licensable version of it from any commercial foundry. (But I’m unaware of any free varieties either).

i love the caps, especially. i may model caps for “Adam” on these. in the mean time i guess what my next project to start will be… ;^D

Although there may not be a direct digital version of Caslon Text, I should point out that Cloister Black is a pretty close adaptation of Caslon Text, and there are a lot of digital versions of Cloister Black.

I have a slide or scan that compares the two, if that is of any help.

that won’t be necessary, thom. but thank you for offering.

Caslon Gotisch BQ (as in Berthold).

unknown

BTW: Sorry it took so long to react. Iwas thrown by this thread’s title…

unknown

hmmm… can’t seem to find it on Berthold’s Library page.

unknown

Paul, searching, I came across this digital version of Goudy Text by Castle Type.

unknown

thnx, william. however i’m looking for Caslon’s blackletter… I’m through with Goudy’s. ;^P
