Does anyone know if there is a quality digital version of this old Letraset font, which name escapes me?

'Sans Serif Shaded', by Dieter Steffmann..
For "old" type buffs like myself, many of the typefaces I've used from the past haven't made it into the digital realm or were pooly translated.
What adds to the problem of "hunting down" older typefaces is that names might be different, the designer has actually created a "new" version, or that it becomes hidden under a ridiculous category like "Fancy" or "Unique"!
The game is afoot! or is it "The game is a face" or "The face is afoot"?
BTW- what is the application you intend? Long or short text? Cap sizes larger than 5 inches? Five feet? If you only need a few letters, it might be easier to find someone who can set it using photo-headliner, etc.

Yes, I'm old, but I'm back in style!
This might help those who have joined the hunt.
By my recollection only (I'm not near my reference library), the Sans Serif Shaded was part of the T.J. Lyons Collection of Wood Types that Letraset originally licensed before Agfa-Compugraphic.
CORRECTION: Sans Serif Shaded originally came from the foundry of Stephenson Blake & Co. and NOT T.J. Lyons
The shaded version became wildly popular in late '60s -- early '70s, making its way onto many bookcovers and record albums (you know, those big black round flat things before CDs).
I remember being amazed that the design originated from an old wood type, since to me it seemed very contemporary. Gee, it was old, but came back in style!
Someone please correct me if my recollection is wrong, as I wouldn't want to create false history.

Yes, I'm old, but I'm Sans Serifs Shaded!
I've made a note in a catalog that Opti had a version. I don't recall how I knew that, as it doesn't appear in any of the Castcraft Designer Collections, but you could contact them. Be ready to pay a premium for one of their fonts, though.
Another download site for "Sans Serif Shaded"
Attributed to Stephenson Blake & Co. Ltd., Sheffield
Version 1.0; 2002; initial release Copyright (c) Typographer Mediengestaltung, 2002.
But the sample looks poor and the font is also poor.
Alternative designs:
Balboa Shaded Condensed or Initials (scroll down page)
It's odd that of all the typefaces from Stephenson Blake & Co. that have been made available in digital fonts, that Sans Serif Shaded somehow missed the boat in terms of quality.

I did a quick sample output of Sans Serif Shaded with font downloaded from AbstractFonts.com
Notice that the outlines are chewed up in some characters.

( Just a note.: The 'Sans Serif Shaded' featured at Abstract Fonts IS the one by Dieter Steffmann.: '..Version 1.0; 2002; initial release Copyright (c) Typographer Mediengestaltung, 2002..' > www.steffmann.de, Typographer Mediengestaltung.. )
Thank you all.
I intend to use it at large sizes on a poster, so I need a quality drawing.
Might be easier to redraw the letters that I need.
I wouldn't want to knock Mr. Steffmann, he seems to have digitially re-createdd a number of interesting faces, but unfortunately for me, his version of 'Sans Serif Shaded' is not good enough.
I found this version of Sans Serif Shaded that says "Copyright (c) Typographer Mediengestaltung, 2002. All rights reserved. Sans Serif Shaded von Stephenson, Blake & Co. Ltd., Sheffield."
It says it is a free download but I can't seem to download it so I have no idea if it is a better version?
Zoe,
the copyright info is the same for the versions Dav (formlos) and I found, so I assume it's the same. But the little sample they give on the page looks horrible!
Chances are that if someone else digitized a version it would be called something else, which makes it even harder to find.
