(x) "Climbing roses" script in Martha Stewart living - Welo Script (The Font Bureau, Inc.) {Benjamin}

’ABC Vario Zwei’, by Hans Eduard Meier, may get you slightly closer..

( A nice alternate may also be ’Montessori Script’, by Stefan Hattenbach.. )

If you want those big round capitals try Lucian Bernhard’s Bernhard Modern Italic Swash, Bernhard Schönschrift or Bernhard Tango.

I’m bumping this one back up because I’m still hoping someone can ID it, it’s really nice.

I think this is the italic form of something that was a recent release, but I can’t for the life of me remember where I saw it. I hate when that happens.

hmm... i’ve looked everywhere. can’t find it. such a beautiful font though. all prim and proper. closest i could find was adana. other alternatives might be Savoye, Viant, Pluma, Florentine Cursive, Liberty, and Bernhard Tango. Best Wishes!

This reminds me of some of the custom type from Martha Stewart Living. Where did you get the sample?

This site has samples of Martha’s custom fonts - I don’t see this particular script there. But I haven’t looked at the magazine lately.

as seen on her own site, it’s not the other (serif) ital either.

No, we’re talking old school… I have an issue from a few years ago with Martha on the cover holding a watermelon engraved with that very typeface. I kid you not.

I believe it’s Welo Script, designed by the Font Bureau. Sadly, they’ve taken down all the custom samples from their website.

I’ll try to post an image of the watermelon later...

Here you go...

(Is there a better way to post images these days?)

Images are coming — just talked to Jared. Code is already in, they just need to work out a few quirks. Your prayers will be answered! :-)

Cool. Thanks!

Thanks so much for trying to help. I believe I found this example in Martha Stewart a few years ago. I know that Jonathan and Tobias designed a lot of custom fonts for Martha and I wonder if they did not create this one. I will contact them and see what they say. It does seem so familiar, but I’ve not been able to figure it out either.

I’ll keep coming back, hope to find a definite answer.

Best,
Mara
