Filson Logo Typeface

Sean Bacon

Hi everyone. I am working on a project and am trying to find out the name of the typeface or typefaces used in the Filson logo. I have attached it here and would appreciate any help in identifying exactly what it is or something close. Appreciate any time and assistance in advance!!

_FILSON_ looks widened and perhaps boldened and perhaps has other changes.
_SINCE 1897_ might be close to a font.
Closest match I found so far is Goudy Catalog https://www.myfonts.com/fonts/linotype/goudy-catalogue/
An also ran is Stratford https://www.myfonts.com/fonts/ef/stratford/
Using Stratford Medium might work as a base for making _FILSON_ if it is widened 130%

Hoefler Text Bold, stretched and squashed, would also make a good basis for recreating the look of |FILSON| (you’d also have to refine the serifs):

Or use Hoefler Titling Bold, which has finer serifs:

You could try the Small Caps from Hoefler Text Bold, here shown as is -- which is an approximate fit as is for some letters -- and with width expanded 130% -- which is an improved fit for _S_ HoeflerTextBoldSCand@Width130pctAsFILSON_SM_5934.jpg">

Thanks so much to everyone, it was helpful and ended up working with the Hoefler Text Bold Small Caps. Appreciate everyone's time and assistance.
