Something “like” Rotis

elzadra

Doing a book layout, we're playing with using Rotis Serif and Sans, liking the verticality and the very slightly unconventional forms – 1988, but it still feels fresh.

However, one of the people involved is not convinced.

Any suggestions for a similar sort of super-family, sans and serif, clean and crisp, somewhere not too far from the moment?

Shinntype’s Sense and Sensibility are part of a super-family with Pratt Nova.

I think that Rotis gets old fast. If I remember correctly, the Economist used it for a while, then went to a typeface with less eccentric e's and cs. After a while they irritate.

> After a while they irritate.

To me it was irritating from the very first moment. And I know, I’m not alone with this. But that discussion has been led more than exhaustingly a long while ago …
R. is a good example for to show that thinking is not everything in type.
