Optima with ?

starlux

Hello all,

I’ll be getting started on a redesign for a healthcare book that used Optima as the headline style and Garamond as the body. This new book is part of a series and the publishers want to stick with Optima as the headline style but is willing to consider another body face. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to explore? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Tammy

I’m holding a book right now that uses Optima for headings and Zapf’s own Melior for body text. I think it looks sharp. For some reason I find that Melior looks kind of “scientific” in a friendly way — it must be something with the squarish letterforms — so it would be appropriate for a book on healthcare.

Thanks! I took a look at the page you linked to...looks good...and fits the subject matter. I’ll definitely check it out further.

starlux if you are interested in Melior you should check out Remontoire from MacRhino.

Whole site is flash, but dig to the RETAIL fonts and you’ll find it.

Remontoire...very nice. I’ll have to see if I can get them to buy both so I can experiment. Thanks for the suggestion.

Tiffany,

Thanks for making a push for Remontoire, And Starlux, please let me see the result if you decide to use Remontoire later on. BTW my site is actually 100% “Flash-free”. ;-)

Cheers/SH

Am I seeing a bug in the site, or did Miss Tiffany link back to typophile.com?

speter. boy for a second there I thought I *had* linked to typophile. I checked my code and it is for MacRhino. So I’d say that it is a bug.But a bizarre-o bug.

HAHA, A wierd bug indeed. The MRF URL is simply;
http://www.macrhino.com

The link code is coming out as
<a href http://www.macrhino.com>MacRhino</a>
without any equals sign. Is that how you typed it, or is the forum software doing something weird?

Let me try: MacRhino. Looks okay...

quel bizarre. i didn’t use = ... so at least I have that going for me.

No problem, SH. I’ll probably have a final layout template within the next month or so.

Pascal. But there’s no decent digital version yet...
