A font similiar to DIN

Christian Mohr

Hi!

I have discovered the following which reminds me a lot of DIN but there are quite a few differences when you look closely at it.
I have performed a search using an image font identify tool but I didn't came up with a suiting result.

Does anyone else have an idea which font this might be? I have a feeling it's pretty custom.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Looks like the sort of W you'd see on a license plate or airplane number. Closest commercial match I could find is Azbuka:

Sequencia comes close, save for the spur on the G:

Another close similar (with the exception of /W which looks a bit out of place): Uniqlo by Morisawa [2007]
The /W comes closer to Licenz Plate by Levi Halmos [2001, Free for personal use].
Good guess on the license plate Kevin ;)

Fivos, I think Kashiwa Sato designed the typeface for Uniqlo, while Morisawa developed it as a font.
Anyway, the font is a custom font. It would not be good for you to use the font on your site, even if you use the font for font identification.
Did Kashiwa Sato, Morisawa or Uniqlo allow you to do it?

Greenwich by Julian Morey would almost be perfect if you were looking for a stencil.

Good find Rob! The closest so far. Now, part of giving more information about this sample, there's a big chance it remains unsolved.
Some more not matching either: Korolev, tdBastard, Cornelia, Simplon, Mono45 Headline, PDU, Heureka (used on Nylon Magazine), Lutz Headline, Numberplate, csutom by Elektrosmog for Kunsthaus Glarus, Rational/Protokoll

Thanks for all your input guys. Too bad there's not 1:1 matching font but I'll have a close look at the different choices I got now. Greenwich looks very good to me. Except for the stencils.

Agains, thank you very much!
