A font at the Opera

iFab

Hello everyone, this is a font taken from a poster for an opera of 10s or 20s of the twentieth century.
Looking around the net the only one that seems to look like it's the Chienna, but it isn't.

May you help me please?

Thanks.

SeveralEuropean foundries had fonts of this general design during the early 20th century. Schelter & Gieseke of Germany had several. Dan X. Solo digitized one from the Brussels foundry of Van Loey-Nouri and called it Moritz https://www.myfonts.com/fonts/solotype/moritz/

Thanks Don, you got it! ;-)

EDIT: some letters are a bit different (e, a, t...) , but its usable anyway.

The German expressionist font used in your poster is called Habsburg. It was designed by Heinrich (Heinz) Keune at J.G. Schelter & Giesecke, Leipzig, in 1903. He also designed a narrower version called Wittelsbach. Here are two fonts as shown in a S&G Schriften und Initialen type specimen book from the era

AFAIK neither font has been digitized.
However, as previously suggested, Moritz is almost identical and would work as a digital substitute.
