(except or /r which seems a bit cut-off in your sample)

I was going to say that the 'r' looks like it came from Kabel Condensed Bold - but, nah ... they just chopped it off. Being in the country, maybe it had a hunting accident?

More likely a run-in with a designer's x-acto knife during paste-up. The original way to kern type!
