What's wrong with Merkury?

hhp

Nothing! Love it, but i don't have it.

Why don't you buy it?

hhp

Don't have € 630,00 to spend on the whole family (9 weights) right now.

This is pretty expensive... Do you need the whole family? I have a feeling if you find a decent alternative it won't be as extensive anyway.

And the font has only lining figures, no text figures? (and no smallcaps either?)

That's true, but i would want a whole family to work with. I have Din Next Rounded it looks a bit like Merkury more rounded what i don't want, Merkury has a nice balance...

And what is that й in the upright light font?

It is not as in the upright regular, mono or bold (or even any of the italics, including light italic). And there appears to be no alternative. There is no opentype feature in that font?

And sadly the EULA doesn't permit modification. (Not that I personally respect such a clause.)

What exactly is it you like about Merkury? Does it need cyrillic support, for instance? Italics? Do you need it as a text font or a display font?

Mainly i want to use it as a text font and ok it isn't a complete family, but really love the look and subtle roundness and the characters a, s, y etc. Love the typefaces from Radim Pesko, maybe not everyone will agree, but I like them a lot ;-)
