Well, to start ... Almanzo is Ashley Crawford, Chippett is Cartoon Bold and Fansler is Nubian.

I recognize several others, but that's all I have time for just now.

Falaise is Keynote (Willard Sniffin for ATF, 1933). Offered by Red Rooster as Willard Sniffin Script.

Glancy is Prisma (Rudolph Koch for Klingspor, 1931).

Now that I have the time, I'll back up and give attribution to the fonts in my first post. Ashley Crawford was designed by Ashley Havinden, 1930. Cartoon by Howard Trafton, 1936 (available legitimately - but only bundled with software - as Corel's Cancun. Lots of knockoffs exist). Nubian by Howard Sniffin, ATF, 1928.

Bleeker is obviously Agency. Morris Fuller Benton (barely beats out Goudy as my all-time favorite typeface designer). ATF, 1932.

Odd (I'll refrain from saying suspicious) that several typefaces in this collection are also offered in Jason Castle's fairly small catalog ...

Hackett is Cubist Bold By John Zimmerman for BBS, 1929. I only know this because it's in the ReadMe file for Nick Curtis's Bric-A-Braque. It was shown (and used on the cover) of Deco Type: Stylish Alphabets from the '20s and '30s (Art Deco Design) (I just ordered a copy).

Hardwick is condensed Bank Gothic (Morris Fuller Benton, ATF, 1930).

Huntley is Gothic Wood Black by the incredible George Nesbitt, 1838 (used in WW2??). The Solotype Catalog shows a sample of this a Chikamauga. Dennis Ortiz-Lopez (Rolling Stone Magazine type master) digitized this as OL Smokler Bold. See also Jeff Levine's Public Notice JNL.

Lacar Script is Howard Trafton's Quick, 1933 for Bauer. Rallph Unger digitized it as Parfum.

Maximo - bear with me- is very similar to Nick Curtis's digitization of (again from a Nick Curtis ReadMe file) a typeface shown in a Dover clipart book called Art Deco Initials. Apparently , the editor presented an extrapolation of several incomplete typefaces of the era to show a complete alphabet. Nick's version of that can be had as Big Apple. Walden's version is slightly different, so perhaps the resource was different ... ? I dunno.

Nuisance appears to be a version of a face that David Rakowski did an early digitization of as Hartin 2. Prior versions included Hartin and Harting. The Solotype Catalogue (prre-digital) gives a showing as Ribbonfaced Typewriter. No idea what the original was.

Sharkey is Futura Black (Paul Renner for Bauer, 1928).

Sheffie is Thorowgood. Apparently, the original designer was a predecessor to William Thorowgood named Robert Thorne, 1830's.

Tilmon is Willard T. Sniffin's Hollywood, ATF , 1932. See Nick Curtis's Tinseltown.

My interest in the Walden WWII poster font collection arose from Ryuk's posting of a link to Nelda WF. I still find it a puzzle. Very similar to Balloon but with differences and it has a lowercase. I was able to assemble a character set:

Greenlaw is a digitization of a hand-lettered alphabet from Ross George called Postre, which appeared in several of the Speedball lettering books.

Remely is a typeface named Eclair. I don't have the original foundry name because I donated my collection of type and lettering books to the University of Virginia.

I pulled together comments from Mike and Nick as well as my own efforts and made a little package showing the Walden type samples, the Walden name and our thoughts so far on possible matches. There are a lot of gaps!
To make it easier to handle I have split it into nine sections. Here is the first one. Does anyone else have any ID suggestions?
