what is the system default typeface for coding languages? any help is much appreciated!

vance.

Which system?
Which coding languages?
Which software?

The only thing that's always default is that its monospaced.
Don't know about Mac's, but most script editors on proper computers just use Courier New.
C++ and VB also use Courier New on my machine & I don't recall changing it, so I guess that's default.

My improper mac(!) uses Courier but I can also set it to Monaco if I get bored ;-)

The default on the Mac is generally 9pt Monaco (at least in BBEdit, CodeWarrior, Newton Toolkit, etc. under OS 9).

thanks for the help! my apologies for the confusion.
