Hello... I'm aaronthedesigner and I'm hoping that you good folks can help me out.

aarondesigner

I've been a designer for quite a while and though I think that I'm pretty good at designing with type... and consider it vitally important to what we do as designers, I regretfully haven't developed the ability to really identify too many different typefaces. I have to admit that it's a bit of a weak point in my skill set. Anyway, here are a couple ones that maybe you type-identifying virtuosos can readily detect...

thanx in advance!

font2 does not display.

Hmmm... that's odd both opened up fine for me in my browser (I'm using Safari right now). Anyway, I've already come up with an acceptable substitute for the 2nd one anyway (though it isn't exact and I'm kinda curious as to what it is). The first one would be much more useful for me to figure out...

Key is to get images to display in all common browsers:

Be sure your JPGs are RGB and not CMYK.

The second font could be Blair:

Thanks... Blair is pretty close... close enough. Actually, for what I'm doing I think that the Helvetica Neue LT Std that I was messing with would have been a close enough match, but the Blair is much more elegant (I really like that typeface) and I was able to find a free version of it (with a bit of looking).

As for me JPGs. I double checked and they are indeed RGBs. I can't think of why one would display and the other not as they both were generated with the same "Save for Web and Devices" function in Photoshop with the exact same settings. Not that I doubt that they weren't working on someone's browser, but I'm curious as to what the reason might be.

Oh, great! :-)

Link broken in both Firefox AND Chrome. This is not just "someone's browser."
you should reconsider your attitude about responsibility.

This is on opening the image in Photoshop CS4 (with which it was created, according to its metadata):

Aaron, it's not OK to pirate fonts, and it's neither gracious nor smart to casually flaunt that fact on Typophile. I'll alert a moderator.

Strictly speaking, eluding to piracy isn’t against Typophile’s forum posting guidelines. But it is a bit disrespectful.

“…and I was able to find a free version of it (with a bit of looking).”

You may wish to be mindful of this in the future.
