I saw this type used on a logo, and for some reason I think it may be modified?
Help in identifying it would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Same feeling to me. Customized and may be from Verdana or Tahoma...

Very interesting. I'm leaning more towards Tahoma. I'm going to see if I can get more information on this one.

I’m fairly convinced that this is based on Apex Sans, the (ugly) precursor of Apex New, both by Chester Jenkins. Some letters match perfectly.
