It looks like Whitney, but from what I can tell it's a bit wider. Is there a Whitney look-alike that this might be?

Hmm... I'd say that the /r/ is off, and the x-height is different (look at the /h/).

Andrew, I checked against News Gothic, Trade Gothic (a long shot), Whitney and a couple of others. Benton was an exact match, sans some manual re-kerning .
