Another ID for a very Univers-ish typeface. Used alot in book-designs by Norwegian Yokoland.

It looks like Gothic 725 (Bold) by Günter Gerhard Lange (Bitstream, 1990)

You are basically right Jan, it could perfectly be Akzidenz Grotesk (Medium).
The only difference I notice is that Gothic 725 Bold is a bit lighter and more narrow (condensed) which makes it somewhat closer to the sample image.

The US does not have copyright protection for typeface designs, only font software.
