hrrrmmm. wish i knew. those g's are lovely. are these old? everything i find regarding that company seems to be revamped with a different font.

I tried to insert an image of a font for identification but got the message "could not copy image. Error" It is 500 px wide so that shouldn't be the problem. Any suggestions. I'm totally new to this.

jonallyn:

make sure you're using accepted file types. it also does not like spaces or perhaps some other characters so keep the name simple.

Nothing really convincing, here are what I like for the first one: Telluria, Belwe (Antique), Windsor, Verona, Central Station, Schiller Antiqua, Candida (part of the /g, could be a good candidate to customize), Granada
And for the second one: Artcraft and Federlyn, Emerge, De Vinne

Defiantone- yep, love the 'g'. They're pretty old, the first image around the mid 30's, the black and gold one 1925 and probably earlier.
Ryuk- as always many thanks- some good leads. You think they're both custom jobs then? The second image with the upward slanting serifs has totally stumped me. Does the attached clearer image cast any light on it at all?

Thanks!

I can't state they're both custom job. My knowledge is far from being encyclopedic or academic. I've never learned type design and its history. My suggestions are mainly based on visual memory and online resources (digital).

No, because, even if they're close, they don't look the same to me.
I've compiled some more using this sample: Carré Noir, Legacy Square Serif, Latin counterpart of Codar, Figural, Marquis, Amor Serif, Engravers Oldstyle 205 (I like this one), English Engravers Roman, Amulet, WSK (this one too)
